Our solar system is made up of the Sun and the satellites that orbit the Sun. These satellites include the nine major bodies called planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and asteroids, comets, and other objects referred to as small bodies or minor bodies. Except for Mercury and Venus, all the planets have at least one moon (or satellite). Beyond our solar system are countless stars, solar systems, nebula, and other objects.
